Goals and Outcomes

At the end of this course you will:

•  Be able to draw model and make their connections to simple steel structures
• Be able to edit columns, beams
  Be able to Produce drawings

Course Outline

The course is broken down into 7 different modules. The first 5 modules focus on creating and building
on to your model and the last 2 modules cover drawings and printing.

Module 1: Model Introduction

Model covers how to:

• Start Tekla Structures
• Create 3D and plan views
• Learn Toolbar

Module 2: Model Setting up the work space

Model covers how to:

• Learn How to create Grids
• Create views
• Set snap switches
• How to create points

Module 3: Model Steel Framing

Model covers how to:

• Create Columns
• Create Beams

Module 4: Model Concrete

Model covers how to:

• Create pad footing
• Create strip footing
• Create concrete column
• Crete concrete beam

Module 5: Model Edi

Model covers how to:

• Copy and move objects in a model

Module 6: Create Drawings

Model covers how to:

• Number and renumber your model
• Create and Print reports
• Create general arrangement, part and assembly drawings
• Set up and save drawing properties for future use

Module 7: Print Drawings

Model covers how to:

• Set printer options
• Print drawings to paper
